A website is comprised of layer after layer of specific content, some of which isn’t seen by the user. There is the structure later which users see. This is the page and the title of the page. Yes, it seems very basic but it is anything but basic. Websites have to be written correctly for the search engine in mind. If the titles and the page are not worded correctly then they are useless. This is where SEO Search Engine Optimization comes into play.
The structure layer has an alternate SEO variable that can be programmed into the page and title that users don’t see. These variables are for the search engines to read and not the end user. Special tags can be coded into the structure layer to help the search engines identify what page they are looking at easier. So for example, if the title of the page is hats then tags can be coded into this page that suggests to the search engine that these hats are baseball caps or cowboy hats. That way the search engine knows how to help the users find the type of hat easier.
The next layer is the content layer kind of like what you are reading right now. It consists of links, text, images, and videos. This layer is where most of the magic happens for the search engine. When the search engine reads your page it will need to match related content to the page title and main link to the page. So the text should relate to the page title and nothing else. Website marketing depends on this for something called a quality score. The quality score tells the search engines how well your pages content relates to it’s title. Videos help immensely because if done right, they can have text content linked with the video which gives the user a much better experience on the web.
The last layer is the marketing layer in which analytics are collected. Analytics gives an in-depth view of what, where, when, how, and why the user is on the page which is vital for SEO purposes. The longer and more productive visit the user has the better overall score the page gets by marketing platforms. If the user interacts, purchases on, subscribe to, or shares the page then the page is given a high indicator value for the page to be promoted at a lower cost. Or even no cost at all! I have a few pages I never spend money on that rake in hundreds of dollars each, if not thousands.
